1.Harrison tore the straps of his handicap harness like wet tissue paper.
This simile represents freedom in life and to be able to escape something that is putting you down and keeping you from being different.A happy tone because he is breaking free from the handicaps and showing to everyone watching that you an be free.
    2. I feel that the reason that Kurt Vonnegut put in the allusion of Thor was to show all mighty power to resolve yourself from within a society like HOW HARRISON BROKE FREE FROM THE handicaps and being powerful.

“They leaped like deer on the moon”
This simile shows during the dance how elegant and gracefully they we’re, just like deers prancing through the forest and also how beautiful the dance looked just as beautiful as the shining moon.
In HB the allusion is Thor the god of thunder. This allusion shows that how strong and handsome he was just like the god Thor and showing his true self after tearing off all of his handicaps even though it was against the society.

One example of a simile from the short story is “their faces were masked, so that no one seeing a free and graceful gesture or a pretty face, would feel like something the cat drug in” the tone of that simile is very depressing and sad and overall not a very good tone.
An example of an allusion in HB is Thor the god of thunder. It shows how strong and handsome he was just like the god Thor and showing his true self after tearing off all of his handicaps even though it was against the society.

    1. “A moment passed, and the a ballerina arose, swaying like a willow.”
This simile describes the the ballerina swaying very smoothly, the dancing motion being soft and slow. The ballierina appeared moving side to side, like a willow tree in a light breezy wind day.

    2. The HB allusion was, “Thor God of Thunder.” It describes how strong and that he is brave, strong and manly he is referring to him as a god Thor when he tore the handicaps off and not listening to what society was wanting him to do.
