A “Friendly” Reminder

The article I picked is about a topic very relevant to today, climate change. The main reason why I picked this article was because of the attention-grabbing title “The Collapse of Civilization May Have Already Begun”. I’ve always found climate change interesting too. The title in itself would be enough to grab the reader in to want to read more and also this quote, “it is now too late to stop a future collapse of our societies because of climate change.” I feel like there are many reasons to why this article was created such as to inform, reveal and maybe even to persuade. There are parts of the article where the tone sounds gloomy and sad, but I think that’s to be expected from an article of this type. There are a lot of things I’ve learned and takeaways from this article like the effects of climate change quite possibly may be irreversible and that it’s a very important discussion. Reading this article made me feel a mix of fear and thoughtfulness for the future. I would definitely recommend this text to others because I believe it’s important to face reality and not become blind to problems, we all face on a daily basis. And even if it’s not 100% reversible we can still do our part and try our hardest to repair what we’ve damaged.
