In the story “The Monkey’s Paw,” there are some examples that show how peoples’ greed hurt them. After Mr.White had the monkey’s paw, he wished that he can get a large sum of money. His greed is revealed by him. And then, his son died accidentally at work. He got the pension, a large sum of money. When Mr.White had the monkey’s paw, he made a greedy idea, then the greed let him lose his son. This proved that people’s greed hurt them. Another example is when Mr.White want to get the monkey’s paw, his friend always prevent him even want to burn it. This indicates that Morris hated it , he already have hurt by his greed, he didn’t want to Mr.White make the same mistake. The third wish of the first man who used the monkey’s paw is for death, This indicates before the third wish, he experienced some bad things , his greed hurt him and he didn’t want to live. Greed isn’t a good thought. We can have some wishes, but not the greed. Don’t made your greed hurt yourselves.
