I’m thankful that my family was able to all come over for thanksgiving. Our original plan for Thanksgiving was to only have my immediate family over this year, as opposed to what we normally do which is have almost our full family all in our tiny house crammed in sitting at two tables. With a quick change of plans, everyone who was originally not coming over eventually did, we had a last-minute dinner filled with laughter and silly jokes. I’m really happy the way my thanksgiving turned out because I missed a lot of my family since I haven’t seen them since Christmas dinner. Everyone that was healthy enough stopped by even if it was for a quick second and not for the full dinner. It was probably my favourite Thanksgiving yet. We even got some pie, even though everyone wanted apple we only had pumpkin. I forgot how much I missed my family until I finally saw them, and I forgot how many inside jokes we have. For example, before I was born my family hosted thanksgiving and my cousin’s boyfriend asked for a bun, my Uncle Lin who was seated at the other end of the table, sat up grabbed a bun and chucked it at him, hitting my cousins friend in the head and landing right on her boyfriends plate. Now anytime someone asks for a bun, you have to chuck it. It’s a silly tradition but it’s one of the many reasons I love my family so much.
