my digital footprint
1.) How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?
My digital footprint could affect many things, but one of the biggest things is that it can effect is your future. for example if you were applying for a job or applying for an entrance into a post secondary school, they could research your history and things you post online. If they find something negative they probably wouldn’t hire or accept you. if you had a positive digital footprint it could definitely improve you chances of them accepting or hiring you.
2.)Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe.
Make sure whatever you post or share is something that is important and doesn’t present you in a negative way. If you have to think about it too much you probably shouldn’t post it.
Don’t share your passwords with anyone, because even if you think its funny if your friend post’s something it might get you in trouble.
another way to make sure that you are safe online is if you always remember that what you are posting its available for everyone to see and even if you delete it its still there.
3.)What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them.
It’s always funny when a friend sends a you a funny text but, is it really funny when that friend post’s it on your account and you get in trouble for it? Future employers and schools always research you digital foot print and if it presents you in a negative way the chances of them accepting or hiring you are quite slim. But it is a great idea to have a positive footprint because it’s impressive to future employers and future schools when you have a positive footprint. It sets you apart from others. Always make sure you think before you post or follow someone.
