In my Adl10 class we were assigned to complete an interveiw with someone that has a career that we are passionate about. for my project I interveiwed my mom, she is a registered nurse with Frazer Health.  She helps mental health clients in the community. I chose her because I’m very passionate about science/medicine. Another reasonn why I chose her is beacuse you get the oppertunity to help people.  Helping those people live better and healtheir lives.

Why are you passionate about this job?

I’m passionate about this job because I get to get involved in the community and help people. Nursing is something that I’m very passionate about I get to practice medicine and that is something that I always highly enjoyed.

What are some obstacles that you have faced to get where you are today?

Going through University was a large challenge for me, it put a big toll on my life and it didn’t give me much time for my Fiancé (husband now). Over the years I have jumped between jobs and that was hard for my family finding a good place to do what I do is difficult.

What is something that you would pass on to someone who is interested in what your doing?

Work hard and don’t give up, if you are struggling keep going because it can only get better.

Would you be interested to further contact from riverside students and if so, how can we contact you?

Not at this time.

What kind of schooling did you go through to get to where you are today beside high school?

I completed by Bachelor of science -nursing at Douglas college.

What are you most proud of in your career?

I’m proud that I’m a registered nurse who works with mental health clients in the community.

What I have learned.

During my interview I have learned that working in the medical field isn’t the easiest thing. There are many obstacles that might come in your way, but it is important that you keep going and don’t give up even when it gets tough. I have also learned that there is a good amount of schooling involved to work in the medical field but to me it is all worth it in the end when you get the opportunity to help people.  You may go through hardships but its what your doing that counts. This interview has given me an opportunity to really see what this job/being in the medical field entails.
