Hacksaw Ridge is a film that i watched this summer that was written by Robert Schenkkan and Andrew Knight. It is based upon a soldier in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII,  he saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines all by himself. I learned that thousands and thousands of men died fighting for what they believed in, and people are still fighting today in other countries around the world for what they believe in. He put himself at risk to save all of these men that were just left for dead on the battlefield, and the last thing on his mind was saving himself.
