Note: the project is complete, Desmos couldn’t show all of my shading in one frame

Personally, I found it easiest to visualize each function and relation if I graphed them all without translations to see what their general shapes were. While I was graphing my project I would refer back to my original functions and relations and apply transformations accordingly. Sometimes I wasn’t accurate on the first try and I would try my best to be creative and use smaller portions of a function or use a large combination of different ones. I’d say the biggest challenge I faced with this project was trying to compartmentalize everything so I could get it done on time. Just because one section looked like it would take 20 minutes doesn’t mean thats always the case, it could take hours instead. I hadn’t realize that I was doing the shading wrong until the week this project was due and once I realized the right way to do it, it made shading significantly easier. I’d say every now and then I would ask my peers for help, but I mostly ended up helping my peers. Regarding strategies, I mainly tried to get the functions from the criteria out of the way first, then once I had graphed them all, I had more liberty with the functions I could use. This project has helped me identify and visualize functions more clearly and I also have a better understanding of the importance of having a domain and range.

Documentary – Pandemic Pastimes

The documentary creators, Tre Jijian, Lenny Shpolanski, and Chelsey Whitmore set out to answer the question, “how has the pandemic influenced students at Rivserside Secondary School to learn a new instrument.” We presented our findings through our mainly interview based documentary titled, “Pandemic Pastimes.” We found members of the schools’ music department to interview and gain perspective of their learning experiences with their new instrument. The view of this documentary is seen as expository due to the unbiased narration and most of the information being based on answers in interviews. This documentary navigates through the music department to learn student’s stories.

While writing the screenplay for “Marionettes Inc.”, I found that there was more dialogue than I had anticipated and found it tricky to know when to end the story. I decided to keep in as much dialogue as I could to keep it relatively interesting, plus it added context. I also decided to not complete the entire story to create a cliff hanger. Although I only used the content of the first two pages of the story, I think I was able to create a good introduction to the movie or television show that would theoretically come out of this. The introduction is important to keep detailed because it gives context to the entire story. Because the story was narrative, I didn’t need to change anything about the writing type because screenplays are generally narrative. I found I was able to leave out some more descriptive components that were in the original story because they were a bit unnecessary. There were some points in my writing where I wasn’t sure if I should put some actions inside parentheticals or weather, I should have put them in the action paragraph. I think in writing this screenplay, I learned a lot about figuring out what sections are okay to leave out and where you can add your own changes.

Practice Newspaper Article – Evil Robot Monkey

Evil robot monkey attacks innocent children on fieldtrip

On the quiet afternoon of July 7th 2016, students from Elbert Elementary School were visiting the local FBLE (Florida Biotech Laboratory of Experimentation) in their hometown of  Winter Haven, Florida while enjoying the sight of a pottery loving monkey, it suddenly became violent and threw it’s clay at he glass diving the school group from the rabid monkey.

Scientists have reportedly been working on the advancement of animal intelligence through brain implants, as shown in this current violent incident, there have been several defects in their development, head of the FBLE, Delilah Samson states, “these out of control animals need to be disciplined” to ensure the safety of future visitors of the institution.

The FBLE has put in over $70,000,000 of federal tax dollars into animal brain implants over the past 3 years and have taken up the majority of the government’s budget for scientific research, eradicating a large sum for other scientific research and jeopardizing the expansion of other small research laboratories.

Local physiologists are currently researching why would a monkey with the brain capacity of a human act out on such a random occasion, they are currently stuck at a dead end, however the federal government will be assigning well educated experts to continue to research the case before coming to any conclusions.

Scientists are also starting to question weather monkeys are planning on overthrowing the human race because of this violent incident.
