Math 10 – Week 9

This week in math we learned about multiplication of polynomials and factoring polynomials. When learning about multiplication of polynomials we learned a way to quickly get an answer for polynomials that have a degree on 1, there is just an X by itself and it only has 2 parts. When you see one that looks like (X+6)(X+3) most people would do distributive and then have to combine the middle part since they would be like terms, but this operation skips all of that. I think of it as multiply, add, multiply. First you multiply the two X’s then add the 6 and the 3, then mutiny them. Make sure you add an X to the added numbers so there are three parts, like there would be using distributive. With this you are able to solve the polynomial much faster and quicker and as long as its don’t right you will always get the right answer.
