One question that stumped me this week was in the practice test: (exponents)
is equivalent to:

-5 is the coefficient
-x is the base
-(-2) is the exponent
At first, I thought that all we needed to do was use the negative exponent law, so the 1 would be on top.
BUT, as I looked at the answers I realized that I needed to put the coefficient 5 on top in replacement for the 1.
