The questions I used to research the Site C Dam were what is the Site C Dam?, how will the Site C Dam affect people and wildlife living near it?, how will the Site C dam affect Indigenous Peoples?, what do scientists and citizens say about the Site C Dam?, what are the benefits to the Site C Dam?, what are the problems with the Site C Dam?, and what are alternatives to the Site C Dam?

Some digital tools I used were Google, Flickr, Pexels, Youtube, and EasyBib.  I have used google and youtube quite a bit before for research but I have not used EasyBib, Flickr, or Pexels before.

My process for investigating the Site C Dam was, thinking of questions I could use to help me find relevant information, then going to many sites and reading a lot of articles, before creating my presentation.

To verify the information I found, I would look at many articles from different points of view, from credible sources and from different websites, and then finding the information that was mentioned on multiple credible articles.  To cite the sources I used, I used EasyBib so they would be properly cited.

I found this challenge really interesting because I got to go in-depth with the topic.  I also found this challenge interesting because I got to see how different people had strong opinions on the same topic.  I think this challenge went well because I got to learn lots about the Site C Dam and I got to learn how to use different digital tools.  I think I could have budgeted my time better, so I will keep this in mind for the future.

  1. Great post looking at the issues surrounding the Site C dam. I appreciate how you have successfully asked and answered supporting questions to develop a knowledgeable viewpoint. I love how you personalized this issue and included a picture of you by the Peace River. It is interesting how BC’s focus on renewable resources still has environmental effects. If the construction of the Site C dam was canceled, what alternatives to you propose to meet BC’s increasing need for electricity?
