ETEC 532 – Analysis of Vignette #1

While this was a written document it was completed with significant support in the form of peer editing. Which is why I felt that it was better suited for the passing section. Getting use to formal peer editing did take me a bit of time, it was a bit uncomfortable to begin with. However, with practice (just like passing) it became easier and proved to be quite useful. My writing was defiantly better for having participated in the peer editing process.

Abstract: 
Culture, identity and representation are quite complex and difficult terms to define. Art can illuminate, it can help us to understand and define those complex elements. Art is a means to explore our culture and our relationship to culture. When we are presented with art we can think, what does this say about culture, identity or representation? It is a way of seeing art as a means to interrupt culture. This paper explores the idea of “students as producers” and a project where students were able to produce an art form of cultural and political significance by making puppets.
