For this assignment we were assigned to choose one of the multiple choices of a small project. From those choices I chose to do a infographic. Through this assignment I got remined of all the struggles that Indigenous women go through and how many of the statistics are stacked against them. Also how red dress day was only created in 2014, and in that year “A 2014 Royal Canadian Mounted Police report identified 1,181 Indigenous women and girls who went missing or were murdered in Canada between 1980 and 2012.” (Canadian Encyclopedia). But, in the calls to action point 30 where “[they] call upon federal, provincial, and territorial governments to commit to eliminating the overrepresentation of Aboriginal people in custody over the next decade, and to issue detailed annual reports that monitor and evaluate progress in doing so.” (Calls to Action) Fighting to create equal chances for the crimes against Indigenous woman to be equal. Having the overall goal to protect the people that don’t have as much power of voice that are always forgotten.

Shown below is a concept map showing some versions of trickster in different stories explaining what each trickster is like, how they are all related to each other in one way or another. Mainly talking about their role in the stories and what their purpose is in the story.
In my groups podcast the Wolf Scope we are discussing multiple Indigenous stories. Taking the time to see how the stories connect to each other, the Aboriginal way of knowing and being, some of the core competencies and prevalent social issues. Our podcasts discusses the stories: Mermaids, The Story of Starvation, Coyote and the Ducks, Charlie and Traplines. In making this podcast I learned about how interconnected all the First People’s of Canada are and the power of story to convey the same themes and meanings even with completely different surroundings and backgrounds. For the podcast I filled out my questions for all the stories and wrote my part of the script which was the story Mermaids by Richard VanCamp. I also helped with the group portions of the script.
