History of My Birthday

One of my favourite historical figures, Lady Jane Grey, a.k.a. the 9 Days Queen had her head chopped off on February 12th 1554. The last Holy Roman Emperor Francis II was born in 1768, Charles Darwin in 1809, and Abraham Lincoln in 1809 as well.

Things I Love

I love to skate. I have been skating since I was 2, started playing ringette when I was 6. started reffing when I was 13, started playing hockey when I was 13, started coaching when I was 14, and started teaching skating lessons when I was 15. Currently, I play defence for the U19 PCRMRA ringette team and I assistant coach a U10 ringette team, I play hockey through my schools hockey academy and I teach skating lessons twice a week. I’m very busy with all these ice times but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

I love history. I love learning about the rules of the different Kings and Queens throughout time. My favourite historical figure is Catherine the Great (II) of Russia. I love learning about the different rules of inheritance and marriage and family from the different kingdoms/cultures around the world.

I love language. I like to know the exact definitions of words. Breaking the words apart to sort the root from the prefixes and suffixes and then looking up the history and origin of that particular word is admittedly a little fun. I’m currently working on learning French but would like to expand my languages more one day possibly adding Russian, Latin, Finnish, Swedish, Italian or Dutch as well as French and English.

I love names. I’ve already decided what my possible future children will be named (Mercy Gray and/or Liam Elliot in case you were wondering). I have accounts on many different baby name websites and if I meet someone with an uncommon name I most likely went home and looked up the meaning after.

I love my friends. I am blessed to have such a great group of people always there to support me. I am so so thankful for my best friend and my partner in crime who truly completes me. It is awesome that we all just happen to love the same things.
