Mantone De Chitwit

water purifierOur class listening to Karishma Bhagani telling us about the water purifier

she made to bring back to her home country, Kenya

We did a Google hang out on air with Karishma Bhagani who told us about her water purifier project. Kirishma Bhagani is a new York university student from Mombasa, Kenya. she started the project Mantone De Chitwit which translates to drops of life. In the GHOA she told us about some of her struggles and difficulties making it. She also told us about what motivated her and gave her the idea to do it in the first place. From listening to her talk it has showed me more ways I can get involved.

Questions:

1) What inspired you to start this project?

2) What materials did you use?

3) Is Kenya overlooked as a country that needs help?

In her presentation she answered some of our questions like “what materials did you use?” She told us she used sand, charcoal, gravel and a vegetable called drumsticks. Another question was ” do you think Kenya is overlooked as a country that needs help?” Her answer was ” yes, but their are other countrys that are overlooked more.”
