Mutation Story (Cat Eye Syndrome)

Cat Eye Syndrome

Part 1: Mutation Story

I am a gene that is called cat eye syndrome also known as Schmid-Fraccaro Syndrome I am is a rare disorder when my host mark was born you can tell that he has cat eye syndrome.

thth-1

He doesn’t have eyes like we do every eye is different but his is especially different. Marks parents might have carried a little bit of the syndrome so mark when he was born had me (cat eye syndrome) When you have the cat eye disorder it looks like it would belong to a cat. When a host is born and has cat eye disorder and has the iris defected which means that the pupil of the eye looks like a keyhole much like a cat. I am caused by short arm (p) and a small sections of long arm (q) of chromosome 22, chromosome is the second smallest chromosome. But the cause of me (cat eye disorder) is not really understood, this abnormality may be transferred through generations in families.

To treat me (cat eye syndrome) mark may need surgery to repair birth defects. There are only some cures for symptoms for me (cat eye syndrome) such as anal atresia, heart defects and cleft palate mark uses sunglasses more because his eyes are more sensitive then yours.

Part 2: The making of Mutation Story

  •  What questions did you need to research in order to create your mutation story?

I needed to research “what caused you mutation” because I didn’t know what actually caused it and also “what effects did the gene mutation have on your hosts body?”

  • What new or familiar digital tools did you try to use as you worked through this project?

I had to learn how to inset a picture on edublog and a familiar digital tool I use was to embed the links to where I got my information from.

  • What was the process you used to investigate the topic?

I needed to know what was actually cat eye syndrome and how it was caused and all the treatments and if it can transfer to one another by gene and all the basic research to find more about what my topic was about.

  • How did you verify and cite the information you found?

I got the url from where I got my information from and if you want to see where I got my information it would be at the bottom of the page and I changed the words from the website into my own words and how I am telling them.

  • How did the process of completing this challenge go?

What could you have done better?

I think I did pretty good on this (project assignment) but what I could have done better is to add more of facts into my writing, but other than that it was fun.

  1. Thanks for your mutation story. I appreciate how you have successfully answered your questions in your story and included lots of content. I like the pictures you included as they give a better sense of your mutation. Great work citing your sources with embedded links!
