    1. Why does the man, fish at night? How does this lead to the conflict with the ray? What is the significance of the fact that he does not fish for a living

    The fishes at night because he works during the day and that’s when the mullets come out. This leads to the conflict with the ray because it hunts the fish. The significance of the man fishing not for a living means that he just enjoys.

    He thought that he was good at fishing but he was horrible. He felt bad for catching the mullet. Because the fishes rose up from the sea.

    1. Identify the following parts of the story’s plot: the complicating incident/ a single crisis/ the climax, the resolution and the ending (what kind?).

    The plot is about a man fishing at night. The initiating incident was that a school of sardines has surfaced from the ocean. The climax is when The ray passed on the other side of the boat and the rope snapped. It was a somewhat good ending.

    1. 4. One of the conflicts is between the civilized and primitive world (define these two words first). What are the purpose of the references made to? the plane, the causeway. , and the man’s wife at home?

    Civilized means up to date with technology and stuff like that. primitive means normally the civilization is so old school to the point of very old tactics. The plane, causeway to keep nature at bay, wife at home means comfort means that the civilized world is serrated to the primitive world.

    1. What does the man learn at the end of the story? Why does he release the mullet?

    He found out that nature is stronger, he released the mullet to show that he respects nature

    The oily look marks the presents of something big. The night was black like a witch’s cat. The night was breathless.
