WW1 reflection #5 – project idea

I havent thought this project through very much but I do know I want to create the two different perspectives going back and forth to show the bigger picture and what the two sides were experiencing and feeling. I also want to include a bit of romance into it because I think in this time of much sadness and depression, including romance and hope for happiness and love will be really sweet and will pull the story together.

  1. If you can find a copy of the movie Passchendaele, there is a love story in that from what I remember. I think a love story works very well with the war and maybe a husband leaving for the war and maybe the wife back at home dealing with it. I actually think it might be interesting to create it based on the wife and the changes she has to endure during this (like working for the first time while the husband is away). Her struggle could be around how she never knows where her husband is, she would probably get letters every few weeks. Maybe she develops a love interest while her husband is away and has to struggle with that. There’s an old movie called Legends of the Fall starring a younger Brad Pitt and it actually takes place during WWI (part of it at least) and it’s primarily a love story but also about family dynamics of the brothers.
