What I learned this week was on linear equations.
We first did a small review which was helpful because I havent done linear equations since last year, so we started with a x/y chart. With x’s side having numbers from 1,2,3… and the y’s side have numbers that lead to patterns.
With these charts you can figure out the future numbers by making yourself a formula from the pattern that the chart shows.
So for example,
if the side of Y has numbers going from 5,10,15… you can see that it +5 each number which gives you the first part of your formula which makes it a whole lot easier to figure out.
I also learned with these x,y charts you can graph the numbers which can be very helpful visually.
