WEEK5-MATH10-polynomials

In math this week we started polynomials. A polynomial is an expression consisting of variables and coefficients, that involves only the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and non-negative integer exponents of variables. An example of a polynomial of a single indeterminate, x, is x² − 4x + 7.

Some equations need distributing first.
One example – 3×2(4×2 – 5x + 7)
Step 1: Distribute each term of the first polynomial to every term of the second polynomial. In this case, we need to distribute the 3×2.
Step 2: Combine like terms. In this case, there are no like terms.
Step 3: You should put the results in descending order.

Polynomials are my favorite in math because its very simple no matter how long the equation may look it all turns very small in the end which makes it pretty satisfying to solve.

Something else to remind yourself in equations is for the negatives. Because when there’s a negative number in front of a bracket you need to switch the positive numbers into negatives and the negative numbers into positives.
