when we have a negative exponent I learned that you have to flip what has the exponent either to the top or the bottom.
we first took an online quiz to see if we can figure out why it flips and turn into a positive number and at I thought it was super complicated but with practice I found that it wasn’t so difficult after all.
always remembering that every number is over 1 was also super important. it makes the entire flipping part of the equation so much easier to understand for why we do it and after the first step of flipping it was the more familiar steps afterwards.
what was also hard to remember that I had to constantly remind myself was that after flipping the exponent turns positive. for the first couple questions I did I realized I had flipped the number but I left it a negative exponent which totally defeated the purpose.
