Focus: Golf 101 | Create Your Own Mini Golf Course

  1. Golf 101
    • Go to the  Teams -> Sports -> Files -> Golf -> Golf 101
    • Take a moment to learn about the game of golf and understand how the game is played and where it originated from.  Watch the videos and read the 101 document and learn about:
      • What is golf’s history and origins?
      • How is it played?
      • What are the basic rules?
      • What language do golfers speak?
      • What is golf etiquette?
  2. Build a PGA Level Mini Golf Course
    • Go to the  Teams -> Sports -> Files -> Golf -> PGA Mini Golf Assignment.
    • Take a look at the assignment and the rubric. You will be posting this in assignments on Teams and in your Edublog. The instructions are directly in the assignment. Refer to Team assignments for due dates and rubric.

Reminders

  1. PE 11/12 Calendar – The calendar is on the top of the PE 11/12 Teams page. The class will be meeting on Monday and Wednesday’s, 8:00 am to 9:00 am, Friday’s will be used as a flex time period. Please check the calendar for updates to the schedule. Stay organised and stay active.
  2. Perceived Exertion – In the Fitness channel on PE 11/12 Teams, under files, is a document that outlines perceived exertion. Please review this document, it has important information about rating your personal exertion. This document will walk you through:
    1. What is perceived exertion?
    2. Why is perceived exertion important?
    3. How can I measure my perceived exertion?
    4. How can I use the Riverside Perceived Exertion Scale?
  3. Fitness Logs – We want all our Rapids to stay safe and healthy. We are strongly encouraging at least 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity activity per day, for a total of 150 minutes per week. That is your goal. Your challenge is simple. Stay active. Honestly and accurately self-assess and record your activity. What does the challenge look like:
    1. Go to the Fitness channel on your PE 11/12 Teams page
    2. Find the workouts that are being provided each Monday, Wednesday and Friday (these are going to change week to week, we will make them interesting, challenging and fun).
    3. Complete the workout to the best of your ability
    4. Complete the activity log on your Fitness channel after your workout is done. Use the RPE to self-assess yourself.
