Two things that I think that I did well on where the comparisons and the structure of the essay. I could have improved on adding some background information to the essay and making the introduction longer with more information.

I recommend the book because it shows a different point of view to World War II. The story is narrated from the Death’s point of view which allows the reader to see the events as they are. There is also a lot of foreshadowing to keep the reader motivated to read the book.
Reflection
I think that I did very well with the analogy to the Grinch and how I was also able to include some facts in my rant.
Some things that I could improve on are delivering and memorization.
I think that I did well in having imagery and the dialogue, which I thought was difficult, but I could have had a better story idea and proofread the story more.

In the book, Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi, the human condition is explored through the character Juliette who can kill with her touch. The story begins with Juliette isolated in an asylum that her parents sent her to because she was different from others. Juliette is studied by Aaron Warner, son of the Supreme Leader and leader Sector 45, with the purpose to use her as a weapon for war. Since she is always alone, Adam Kent, one of Warner’s soldiers, becomes her cellmate because Warner wanted to study how she would react. They connect, form a friendship and eventually fall in love. They both get moved from the asylum and ultimately escape from Warner. Juliette was never able to verbally communicate her feelings since no one would talk to her. Juliette was always in her thoughts, but she was able to have human interaction with Adam and Warner, to learn to communicate, to discover more about her ability and develop a friendship with her cellmate. This novel shows that humans need interaction with other humans to develop skills in life and learn about ourselves.
