- Sketch the results of your soil texture lab with the percentages of each particle size. Use the soil texture pyramid on pg 227 to find out what type of texture the soil is.
- Based on the soil texture from question 1, what types of plants would thrive in these soils? What would need to be done to make the soil appropriate for agriculture?
- Explain how climate (precipitation and temperature) affects soil types and how that affects plant adaptation.
- What type of soil would you expect to find here in BC? Explain the properties of the soil and soil profile you would expect. What other countries share the same soil type/profile?
- Name the types of soils natural to Canada and where they are. What needs to be done to each to make it suitable for agriculture?
