The app I reviewed is called the H2O chemistry app created by a company called Diniska

Here are 8 questions I asked of the app to determine whether I believe it could be helpful app in the chemistry unit

Why is it relevant to chemistry 9? The content of the app is based on creating compounds and elements on the periodic table

2. Is it easy to navigate? The app is not difficult to navigate your way through but could easily be simplified so that all the functions are easier to find

3. What section of the chemistry unit is it useful for? It is helpful during the section on chemical compounds and becoming familiar with the periodic table

4. Does it cost anything? No, the H2O app is completely free

5. Will it assist your learning? I believe that it could make it easier for you to read the periodic table and compounds

6. How does it compare to other available apps? After researching other apps I believe it is the most helpful in terms in creating a really solid base for chemistry 9

7. Can you use it for other sections of science 9? No I would say it is most useful for chemistry

8. Could it be useful to students in other grades? It could be helpful to students in higher grades Most likely for reference purposes and to younger students looking to challenge they’re abilities

I believe that H2O is a great app, it will help you to become familiar with the periodic table and can also help greatly improve your knowledge on compounds and the make ups of different elements

This app offers a search engine for chemical reactions where you type in 2 to 6 elements and it shows you how they react together as well as explaining why they react in such a way. The app also offers an advanced periodic table and molar mass calculator. H2O can also tell you the solubility of a substance
The app also has some faults though. Such as being fairly difficult to navigate it makes it harder to use and in my experience apps like this are a lot about convenience. I also think the app would be better suited with more features and activities/games to play in regards to the content.
