Gallagher’s Coffee and Bar

A childhood café that has lasted my entire life. This popular café located in Newport Village, Port Moody has been around, well forever. The warm and cozy year-round feel has given Newport Village a popular place to come and enjoy a cup of coffee.

 

Why Gallagher’s?

I’m the kind of girl that loves Starbucks. It’s quick and easy. However, Starbucks is a multi-billion dollar company that doesn’t depend on the day to day revenue from their customers in order to keep their doors open for business. I can confidently say that Gallagher’s coffee has a much higher quality coffee than any other coffee chain.

 

First Impression

Although it has been years since I’ve gone to Gallagher’s, the moment I entered the café, I felt at home. It was the most amazing feeling. The warm feel that greeted my face as soon as I walked into the wonderful greeting from the employees, I was home. Truly.

 

Customer Service

Despite the fact that the café was extremely busy, the barista took the time to ask me how my day had been. In a society where sympathy and being genuine towards strangers is fading away, I felt as though I had a true interaction with another human being that was genuine and kind. Moments after I had paid for my order and went to go find a seat, my latte was ready. The speed and efficiency of Gallagher’s is unmatched. It amazes me that the workers take the time to greet and talk with every customer, but they are super efficient with getting the orders out.

 

The Taste

I believe that I have found another favourite coffee shop. The delicious taste of the espresso mixed with the milk has a frothy warm-rounded taste to it. I ordered in and my latte came with the design of a heart on top, which made me even more excited to take my first sip. Gallagher’s offers a wide variety of drinks with multiple substitutions for dairy. The café offers everything from Americanos to Red Tea Espresso drinks to Fraps and everything in between.

 

Food

Gallagher’s offers a wide variety of bakery items and sandwiches. I did not end up ordering food, because I wasn’t super hungry. However, I observed the sandwiches and pastries come out, and they look amazing. They are fresh and local. Nothing can beat that.

 

 

 

Pricing

For a venti latte, it cost me $6.00. that is cheaper than any other local or chain coffee shop in the Tri-Cities. The gourmet sandwiches range between $9.00-$13.00. considering that Gallagher’s is a local café, I was very surprised to see how reasonable the prices are.

 

Eating-In

This local café offers indoor and outdoor seating. As well as shaded and non-shaded seating to suit everyone’s needs. The front windows of the café opens the windows during the summer to give Gallagher’s an indoor-outdoor feel. The only con to this café is that I was not able to find any outlets to charge my devices. Otherwise, Gallagher’s offers a cozy, rustic, urban feel, with comfy seating and beautiful light fixtures.

 

 

 

Rating

I believe that everyone should visit Gallagher’s Café and Bar at least once. This unique café offers great coffee and food alongside great customer service. Despite the lack of charging outlets, my final rating for Gallagher’s is a 4.9/5. This is a phenomenal café with great people.
