.”Inside the floating cloak he was tall, thin, and bony; and his hair was red beneath the black cap. His face was crumpled and freckled, and ugly without silliness.” (Golding, 15)
.”Out of this face stared two light blue eyes, frustrated now, and turning, or ready to turn, to anger.” (Golding, 15)
.”Jack’s face was white under the freckles.” (Golding 23)
.”Jack slammed his knife into a trunk and looked round challengingly.”(Golding, 24)
.”Jack held out his hands for the conch and stood up, holding the delicate thing carefully in his sooty hands.” (Golding, 33)
Jack is described at first at the leader of the choir, and you can think he has a very muscular and big body, but instead he is described as a tall, skinny, redhead boy who has a very bad temper. He has blue eyes and we can say he follows the english-boy stereotype. He has light skin and freckles. He tends to have this superiority amongst the other boys which makes me think he physically makes himself bigger, either by making his shoulders broad or bigger or moving his long legs. As the fifth quote says, he has sooty hands.
