To help keep your digital footprint safe you should not over share about yourself. This is a very big tip to those who share everything about themselves on social media. When you tell the world everything about yourself, not only your privacy is limited but some time in the future you will end up regretting it. Some things you can do to make sure you are not over sharing about yourself is to not share any addresses, user-names or passwords. To be extra safe you might not want to add any full or last names. When you are going to send a text or an email, ALWAYS reread your massage! Once you hit send there is no undo button, you can’t take back what you have said. If you send a message that you will regret later in life or if you have second thoughts about sending then you shouldn’t send it. If you ever end up downloading a new social media, you should have a secondary email. Using a secondary email will keep you safe from linking your Facebook or twitter account to a new site.
To keep a positive digital footprint:
Make sure your profile name and picture is appropriate.
Set your Facebook account to private so only your friends and family can see it.
The photos that you post should be appropriate enough to show your parents or boss. Do not put your address, phone number or any details about your bank onto social media. If you are in a photo on your friends account you should untag yourself from it.
When you are doing anything on line you should always be responsible. To be responsible, never copy and paste other peoples work; plagiarizing, and always reference others ideas when it’s not yours. . mm myriverside.sd43.bc.ca
