Tech Team December Reflection

·        What aspects of your work are successful? Explain why.

·        What aspects of your work are challenging? Explain why.

·        What steps did you take to overcome these challenges / what adjustments did you need to make?

·        Is there anything you can do improve? (with your approach to the project, or altering the project)

Do you have any feedback or suggestions, as we move forward, that could help the Tech Team meet the needs of our school and staff / be more effective? (Provide specific examples)

I am very proud of my blog! The first assignment pushed me to dig deeper into the settings and customization of my blog which really improved it and allowed me to make it look the way that I wanted.  I very much enjoyed making a colour scheme and playing with the fonts and the artsy aspect of it. My blog is a very successful product of this semester and a personal achievement for me. My blog is very important to me because I feel that I can show off my artistic talents to all my teachers and peers subtly but effectively. Even though I might not shine in other courses like Socials or Math, I can still show my creative strengths. This was very good practise for me, since I want to pursue graphic design and illustration for post secondary.

As a challenging aspect of the Tech Team, I am also on the RSS Wall of Pride team, and to be honest we’re not really making as much progress as I would have liked. We rarely contact each other, and a Snapchat group chat that was promised to be made has not. The project itself is quite complicated and hard to pla. The criteria is extremely hard; I am having difficulties on how they will allow people to participate but not all may fit into this criteria; so how does one create criteria for something that isn’t a solid concept in the first place? I am hoping to take on more action and responsibility to get this project going.

As soon as the school year starts I hope to assemble my team to create some plans about this projet; define it more, talk about what we want it to look like, and create small tasks to accomplish. I definitely believe that strengthening contact with my teammates is something that I will improve on that will overcome this challenge.

I think we should have more frequent meetings as a whole or as individual teams, as I find that I (and most likely other students) that I am less motivated to do assignments that do not directly correlate to school work unless if they seem to have “less” importance or urgency than my other courses. I would also like it if we had more structure or discipline during meetings as well as the atmosphere for Tech team in general. Since we are an important part of the school and to the school community I feel as if we should treat ourselves accordingly.
