Today I learned that measurement hasn’t been the same for that long throughout the two videos we watched(One was former student project, and the other a BBC documentary.) In the past, people used many different measuring methods such as referents like the cubit in Ancient Egypt. I found it very interesting learning about the history of measurement of different things such as: length, mass, and time throughout the video explaining how people did it in the past. I also thought that the metric system today makes measuring lengths so much simpler and precise, than the ancient ways of measuring things. Lastly, the class got the chance to go outside for a couple of minutes to find an object that could measure length and volume. I found a branch that was rather straight to measure length and a pinecone to measure volume.
