  1. The song is about the two opposing sides during the June 1832 uprising in Paris and the events that lead up to it.
  2. The singers in this song are the people who are rebelling against the July Monarchy in early 19th century France and the people in favour of the  July Monarchy.  The circumstance in this song is that the monarchists want to keep what they presently have and the republicans want a new life.
  3. The song is serious and has a revolutionary tone to it’s lyrics as it is sung at the same time by various character’s who have different outcomes in mind of an upcoming revolution.
  4. I thought that the tone of the song was serious and it was maintained throughout.
  5. The stanza lengths are fairly short as many characters’ voices need to be included in. Furthermore, there are no rhymes and the metric and rhythm of the song are well structured.
  6. I thought that there was imagery in this song because the lyrics produces a scene in the listeners mind as though they are in the same situation as the characters are. I thought the title “One day more” of this song matches with the theme of the song well. This song was based o n the thoughts of two different sides stating what they hope the outcome of the uprising (which would be the next day) would be and what they want to achieve.
  7. I thought that the writer of this song successfully recreated the situation in the listener’s mind by vividly describing what the various character’s have in mind. Furthermore, the song sharpened the listener’s awareness regarding the dire situations back then in France.
