Net Neutrality: How it will affect us
Net Neutrality has become a huge issue in the United States lately. This article caught my interest as we all use the internet daily. Even though this is currently only happening in the United States, it will most likely affect Canada in the near future. Big companies are restricting free usage of the internet and will be charging extra for access to sites they do not like or support. This article is very insightful as the author give us a brief history lesson on the FCC, the people who once supported Net Neutrality. The author also makes it very easy for those who have never heard of Net Neutrality understand its importance and exactly what it is. This whole issue affects will affect us in the near future, as it will change the way we use the internet drastically. It will block us from accessing all information and will only let us see what the government wants us to see. This can be used as a very powerful tool to influence people as they will be forced to think a certain way and will not end well. There has also been multiple articles on the news as well as protests fighting Net Neutrality. Many Youtuber’s, bloggers, and streamers who all depend on the web as their main source of income, is trying to raise awareness of this issue.
