Social Media: The Pros and Cons

 

Social Media is a very interesting topic to address as everyone has very different opinions on whether or not social media is good or bad.  We often picture young teens always on their phones, ears plugged with earphones and of them isolating themselves from the world; however, that’s not always the case. Social Media is often used as a way to express oneself, some may do it positively while others use it negatively. Often times I see young teenagers creating motivational posts on their Instagram trying to encourage those who might just scroll by their post. I found this authors writing to be very informative and insightful as they use several different sources including Ramsay Brown, Teresa Newsome, Washington Post and much more. Not only does the author only mention their names, the author goes on to explain the sources views and how it relates to social media.  The addiction to social media is very evident in today’s society. If we were to walk into any classroom, there is a high probability that one third of the class is looking down at their phones or they are busy taking selfies.

 

Social media is so addicting, but do we care?
