So today I’ll be explaining how to change radicals into powers, and vice versa.
So to start off, let’s take a radical, say, the cubed root of 8 to the power of 4:
To turn this into a power, simply take the 3 & 4, and turn them into a fraction. In all cases, the root is always on the bottom, and so here the 3 will be the denominator, whilst the 4 is over it. Then, we merely make the fraction into an exponent for the 8.
To turn a power into a radical, we just do the opposite. Remember, the bottom number of the fraction is the root number.
