When it comes to self-esteem, everyone is different. Some people might not have very high self-esteem or they might just hide it very well. In my experiences gaining self-esteem is a lot harder than losing it. Now a day, teens think that everyone is judging them on everything they do, whether it is a song you like to who you are as a person. It is very hard to be yourself feeling that you’re going to be bullied on what you wear. For some odd reason people prefer to hid in the back, not speak and do as you are told so they can “fit in” and be “normal” instead of being they’re unique selves and stand out.

One of the reason why people turn to drugs and alcohol is because they are hurt and confused. They don’t know what to do so they turn to something they think might work. They have been hurt so many times or even just once really badly that they don’t know how to handle it. They think that maybe drugs and alcohol can help them. They might also think ‘‘oh it’s just one drink’’, but it’s not just one drink. It could be the start to an addiction or the cause of ruining your relationships with people. Teens are so confused that they might even think that’s it’s their only option.
