Week 10 – Midterm Review

This week in pre calculus 11, we did review for our midterm which we will be doing on the past four units we’ve done. This includes Series and Sequences, Absolute Value and Radicals, Solving Quadratic Equations, and the most previous unit, Analyzing Quadratic Functions. This involved us seeing and going over corrections of our last four unit tests. By analyzing these test results, I realized that the unit I struggled with the most so far was our first one on Series and Sequences. So, in order to get it right on this upcoming midterm, I focused on this unit and did some corrections from the test as well as some practice questions from the book. For example:

Find the infinite sum of this geometric series if possible: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 …

S_{infinite}=\frac{a}{1-r}

S_{infinite}=\frac{2}{1-2}

S_{infinite}=\frac{2}{-1}

S_{infinite}=-2

This answer then tells us that there is no infinite sum.

I really struggled with these types of questions but after studying a bit harder and focusing on my low points, I felt better. Hope you learn something from this and hope you enjoyed following along!
