Staying Safe At Work

3 things I will do to stay safe at work are…

  1. Refuse unsafe work. If I am assigned a job which I deem as unsafe, I will make sure I will never do anything I am not comfortable with.
  2. Make sure I receive the proper training I need to work safely. If I am asked to work a piece of machinery or is asked to do a job I am not certain how to do, I will ask to be properly trained.
  3. Learn the hazards of my workplace. I would need to know everything that is unsafe about my job and make sure I know how to safely do something or how to avoid injuries

2 things I will do to keep others safe at work are….

  1. Communicate with my coworkers if I am about to do a job I deem as unsafe, I would let them know what I am about to do so they are aware.
  2. If they are hired after me, I will make sure they are properly trained according to the guidelines of my workplace.

Grad Requirements

  1. Healthy Living
    1. This year, I am to meet DPA requirements (150 mins/week of moderate to vigorous physical activity).
    2. Next year, I will meet DPA requirements.
    3. Other than physical activity, I will also need a concrete plan for eating healthy and stress management in order to lead a healthy life after graduation.

 

  1. Course Credits
    1. I need __80__ credits to graduate. A typical course is worth __4__
      1. __48__ of them must be from required courses.
      2. __28__ of them must be from electives.
  • __16__ of them must be from Grade 12 courses.
  1. At the end of this year, I will have _40_

 

  1. Community Connections
    1. I need __30__ hours of work/volunteer experience. To show I completed this, I must show proof in the form of pay stub or reference letter.
    2. I can start accumulating these hours in Grade __
    3. My plan to earn work/volunteer hours is through getting a job working at taco del Mar.
    4. I will also need to complete a reflection that includes how you did, how you benefitted and employability. It will be __200__ typed words minimum.

 

  1. Career and Life
    1. In addition to updating my resume, I will also create a financial plan and career plan to show that I have a plan in place after graduation.
    2. When I graduate, my current plan is to travel to Hawaii for a year.
    3. To prepare for the interview, I can look at the questions ahead of time. They are found GT website.
    4. My interview will be with a staff member of Riverside.

In Grade 12, I will find all the necessary documents AND submit them on the GT website.

I will complete Grad Transitions 12 whenever I have English 12. If I have it in 1st semester, I must complete everything except the interview before Winter Ball ticket sales. In 2nd semester, everything except the interview must be completed by the end of April.
