Last week I coloured some of my drawings I had already drew. I Finished the writing for my flower page, and started creating 2 new pages with added felt and poetry. I have also started planning for a new page I want to make this week. I finished my moon page with hanging stars hanging. I originally just had yellow and grey but I added some splashes of blue which I think compliments the yellow stars. This page is an example of the drawing techniques.

For my flower page, I added colour, stems, and finished the poem that says “stand tall even if you stand alone”. I still have not found something to use as the centre for my flowers, so I am still keeping my eyes open for something that will complete the page. I am also thinking of painting the background of this page white or blue so that the words of the poem stand out. This page is a demonstration of drawing, and poetry.

I also created what my favourite page is so far, a sun and moon cycles page. I added black sparkly felt in the background to look like stars. I then cut out circles of my pages in my book, and coloured over them with sharpie to represent the different cycles. I wanted to use these pages to represent juxtaposition, so I did the same felt on the next page and added a sun. I wanted to incorporate some of my inspiration words in it. I added words that say “in order to love the light, you have to go through the dark”. This represents the theme of my book because it is all about about growth and changes, and I related the sun and moon to self growth.

I also decided on a new painting for my bird inquiry project series.

I decided I want to paint a cardinal because it is getting closer to Christmas. I found a reference photo and next week I hope to paint it.

I am happy with the amount of work I got done this week and next week my goal is to work on a new page idea I thought of that involves a pop out.
