Float Your Boat- Project

Observation and Conclusion:

1.) State the problem of this experiment:

How can you make a tinfoil boat with only a few materials and have it hold the most amount of pennies.

2.) State your hypothesis for this experiment:

If you make a tinfoil boat that is triangular and uses straws and coffee stirrers then it will balance the most pennies because it has lots of support and a compactable shape.

3.) How many pennies did your boat hold:

Our boat held 33 pennies.

4.) What was your thinking/reasoning behind the design of your boat?

We thought that if we made a smaller boat that was more supported and firm. We put straws and stirs on the bottom so it would float better and have more support for the weight.

5.) What would you keep/change on your boat design if you were to do this again?

i would have made it bigger so more pennies could fit in. I would also not have put tape on the bottom because the water made it fall off.
