In English 11 I enjoyed our debate the most, as it allowed learning from other classes to come through. I learned more about censorship in our society throughout the semester. I also learned a lot more about essay writing, including integrating quotes. I also enjoyed watching and analyzing Homecoming King and Dead Poets Society, as it was easier to do than analyzing all poetry.

Our 3D model is representative of a teaching program, to teach youth about acceptance of immigrants and refugees. The model shows a speaker and a screen, showing a presentation, and ‘children’ as paperclips on the ground. We believe you can limit discrimination if you teach kids about it early in life.
I believe Joseph Boyden should write stories about the Indigenous people of Canada because he is obviously has knowledge of the culture, and even if his Indigenous lineage is very far down the family tree he is still very aware of his identity and the struggles Indigenous peoples of Canada go through. Two things I did well were bringing in examples from real world history, and being able to connect the book to that. Two things I could improve upon for next time are referencing the book more, and formatting my quotes.
In my opinion the two aren’t comparable in this way due to the fact that the impact they create on society is quite different, but that is not to say one is less important than the other. If we didn’t have one of the two the world would be changed dramatically, without art becoming dull, colorless, and without science and engineers we would be primitive almost, stuck in a way of life unchanging and not advancing.
