This week, I learnt in which order to factor equations.

First, you need to take out any common numbers.

50x^2-82(25x^2-4)

Next you’ll want to check if it follows the pattern x^2+x+(number)

As this equation does not, we don’t need to do anything. here’s an example of a number that does follow the pattern:

3x^2+19x-42(3x - 2)(x + 7)

Back to the original equation, the final step is to see if the whole equation is a power of something else.

2(25x^2-4)2(5x+2)(5x-2)

Which gives you your finished and fully factored number.

2(5x+2)(5x-2)
