The policy that I’ve chosen was deportation. Why, I chose deportation was because even though some of the French Canadiens pledged allegiance to the British forces, the British had still feared that the French would somehow betray them if either a war broke out, or the French army would come and the French Canadiens would join them. So, the British had to improvise and send most of the French Canadiens back to France or the U.S, or if the French came back to Canada then they would find that most of their homes have been either been destroyed or taken away by the British forces. They would also find that most of their businesses have been taken away and that their farms have been burnt. Another reason on why I’d deport the French Canadiens is what if they still had contact with France and if they did have contact then there might’ve been a good chance that they could’ve been telling them secret information about the British like what time the British were going to attack, the war tactics they use, and how they trained their soldiers. Causing the British to be at a great risk if they had gotten all their information leaked, but also causing them to lose the war against the French, which would’ve ended in the French taking over Britain’s 13 colonies down the south. Finally, my last reason to deport the French is since the Jesuits came to Canada, they brought diseases such as smallpox, measles, and scurvy, which left many people ill and weak. Not only that but it also had made some of the British armies weak, and with them being week how were they going to fight off the French. So, if the British Government hadn’t deported some of the French Canadiens than those could’ve possibly been the outcomes of their mistakes.
You have included 2 strong arguments. The third argument about the Jesuits doesn’t fit with the time period of acquiring New France (1763).
