How might your digital footprint affect your future opportunities?
- A) How my digital footprint can affect my future opportunities? My digital footprint can affect my future opportunities by not allowing me to the get the job I’ve been hoping for or maybe not even get me a job at all and why is because a lot of companies don’t look at you they also look at your past. What I’m trying to say here is companies wouldn’t hire someone whos past could potentially affect the companies reputation or customers. Another example would be if you got a scholarship to a college you were trying to get into, and the college looked at your past, and they fount out that you had posted an inappropriate picture or video on social media. There will be a very high chance that they will take that scholarship away.
2. Describe at least three strategies that you can use to keep your digital footprint appropriate and safe?
A) One of my strategies would be is to not put any information that’s very personal to you or someone else. Remember because anyone can see your blog and there are people who do share without consent which is really bad. Another way to also keep your blog safe is to tell any close friends, to not share any information that can put you or any ones life at risk. Finally the best option is to not reveal anything that’s going on in your personal life or anyone else’s. Why, is because people can actually reveal information about your life. Which can possibly then lead to people knowing your home address, about your age and possibly even where you go to school! This is why its best to use these strategies and be very careful around your blog or social media.
3. What information did you learn that you would pass on to other students? How would you go about telling them?
A) What I learnt that I would pass on to other students would to be careful around the internet and social media and also to be careful choosing your friends. The reason is because, there are friends who will possibly post personal photos of you, and you’ll feel that you did get stabbed in the back. What I also learnt, is how everything that you do in your everyday life is recorded through a digital footprint which is why you, need to be careful of what your doing around the internet and social media.
