- It has multiple themes to it. The theme is that He is trying to tell us to always be a man of your word. A promise can becomes a miracle. Which is a form of honesty. He didn’t give up on Sam. That shows perseverance
- What does this passage mean to you, “In the days to come, though my lips were dumb, in my heart how I cursed that load!”
- The passage means hard work. He kept going for days in the cold because he kept a promise.
- In your opinion, why didn’t Cap go back on his promise? Sam would have never known!
- Cap made a promise to Sam. He didn’t let him go because he wanted to keep his promise to his best friend. Being buried int the cold is painful. He wouldn’t want that. In the end, he found him alive and well
- What really happened when Cap opened that boiler? Did he really see the ghost of Sam? Was he hallucinating? What do you think, and why do you think this?
- I think Cap was just hallucinating because of hypothermia. Maybe it was Sam that was dragging Cap the whole time. Maybe it was all a dream!
