Spoken Word Reflection

How did you prepare for this assignment? What was the greatest obstacle? How did you overcome this obstacle?

I am preparing for this assignment by having cue cards and practicing. My greatest obstacle was finding a topic for my spoken word, I kept on switching topics. I solved this issue by asking myself, What topic are you confident and passionate talking about.

What is your goal for this assignment? What does fully meeting look like to you?

My goal is to communicate the information so that my audience can think about my spoken word.

Do you remember last years presentation? How is this year going to be different? where are you going to improve?

Last years was ok, I wasn’t too confident in what I was presenting. I’m planning to speak louder this time.

Is there anything you would like me to know?

I have been doing rants for the past 3 years, so I am working on slam this year.

After the presentation:

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my content and how I showed it through body language, I love my work which hasn’t happened in a long time.

Where have you shown growth? (maybe from last year)

Yes, from my body language. I always froze up when it came to moving myself on stage and I was happy that I could do It especially when I got a reaction!

What do you wish you could do all over again? or take back?

I wish I could have completely memorized my spoken word. Because looking down on my notes makes me nervous. I also wished I had more pauses to give a new layer of depth.
